The fan, Krissy Garlock, tweeted earlier this week that she had found a new hidden message on the official website of the show. It reads: “Jupiter’s Legacy is not over, it’s just beginning.” There is no indication of what that might mean, but fans have latched onto the phrase and are already debating what it could allude to.
After a six-season run on the CW, the CW series Jupiter’s Legacy has been cancelled. Fans of the show were devastated to learn that the series would be ending after all of the characters were successfully resurrected, setting up the perfect cliffhanger for the second season. However, now that the show is cancelled, fans have been learning more about the show, and some shocking details have been discovered.
ABC has killed off Jupiter’s Legacy after two seasons. The drama series, which centers on a coder and his family living among stars, was cancelled due to low ratings. The show premiered in October 2016 and averaged a 0.9 U.S. Nielsen rating in adults 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers. Jupiter’s Legacy stars Sean Berdy, Emily Prentiss, and Tracie Thoms.
Plans for a second season of Jupiter’s Legacy have unfortunately been shelved, at least for now, because Millarworld will be Netflix’s next project Supercrooks, a spin-off focused on the villains of Jupiter’s Legacy world. Millar said some characters will likely reappear, but not in the traditional second season. This means it will be a long time before we see the continuation of some of the lines from the first season, if ever, and that includes the character of Raiku. Raiku, played by Anna Akana, was at the center of one of the biggest cliffhangers of season 1, and since there will be no second season, she took to social media to share some spoilers about her character. At the end of the season, Raiku was brutally murdered by her father Brainwave after discovering he was plotting against Utopian and trying to blackmail him with that information. Fans were shocked that she died so soon after her introduction, but Akana reveals the big plan and it turns out she wasn’t really dead. It’s such a shame that Jupiter’s Legacy wasn’t renewed for a second season. I think it’s safe to say that Raiku isn’t really dead now – she’s created a mental palace similar to Walter’s to convince him that she’s no longer a threat. Legacy of Jupiter is a large and rich area, with many characters to explore. So I’m happy to announce that the next step will be a live-action version of the Supercrooks comic I co-created with Lanil Francis Yu a few years ago. Given our plans for the future, we have made the difficult decision to release our amazing cast from their obligations to the series while we continue to carefully develop all aspects of the Jupiter Legacy saga.
