mollyfamwatPASO ROBLES – Covid-19 pandemic continues to improve life With the start of the donation season, people are looking for ways to help locally with a new online resource – Paso Gives.
Paso Gives was presented by the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce on its #PasoStrong page on the day that seemed most appropriate, Donation Tuesday.
Forty groups that offer special services during the holiday season, such as Cake Toys, Thanksgiving for Paso Robles, the Paso Dary Toy Bank and Children’s Coats, are listed on the Paso Dary tab at www.pasostrong.org. Each group is presented in a humanitarian mosaic.
The House helped redesign and launch a digital Harvest Festival program for those who have given a long-term gathering of like-minded community groups in the Northern District. Dr. Douglas Major, optometrist Paso Robles, helped with the launch some 20 years ago. The goal was and is to make the holidays more beautiful for the people.
About 20 years ago I was asked to organize, coordinate and execute what we call a harvest festival for those who give, said the commander in an introductory video at Paso Gives. During this breakfast we have tried to bring together all the non-profit people in the same room, especially those involved in holidays, service clubs, religious communities and civic leaders, in order to coordinate efforts to make holidays enjoyable for our citizens, but also simply to encourage cooperation and synergy between the specialities of the different groups. This compound has proven to be very, very effective.
The mayor explained that the pandemic needed a change and found an ideal partner in Paso Robles’ Chamber of Commerce.
This year, especially with COVID, we had a chance to tell the public, said the mayor. I hope you will spend some time as a member of our community and see all the good things that are happening. I think your heart will like it as much as mine.
Gina Fitzpatrick, Executive Director of the Paso Robles Chamber, said she was happy when Dr. Major approached her about the project.
In our community there is a strong presence of non-profit and charitable organizations, and supporting their efforts is my great passion, Mr. Fitzpatrick said. #PasoStrong is committed to uniting our community and working with Dr. Major was the perfect partnership to showcase the heart of our community through a digital platform.
Major encourages people to view videos and information about any group available in Paso Gives. Of course he hopes that people will take further action afterwards.

The #PasoGives campaign started on Tuesday 1 December and will continue throughout December.
Dr. Major and the house of Paso Robles know that there are more than 40 territorial groups that help people. The house wants to involve as many charities as possible in Paso Gives. For more information on how to participate, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
