Arsenal, Tottenham eye Real Madrid’s Isco

Madrid playmaker Isco has had a fantastic season and now just a few days away from the end of the season. Real will probably be concentrating on the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, but they may still be looking for a replacement for Gareth Bale.

Spanish playmaker Isco is being linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, and is on the radar of Arsenal and Tottenham. He has made it clear that he wants to leave the Bernabeu, and was close to joining Liverpool in the summer before the deal fell through. His contract expires in the summer of 2018, and if he does leave Real, he will be the most expensive Spanish player in history after being valued at €90m.

Amid the hustle and bustle of Euro 2020 and the Copa America, the summer transfer window has opened and Europe’s biggest clubs are looking for a bargain in the transfer market. Check out the latest gossip below, and see all the official proposals here.

MAIN STORY : Arsenal, Spurs interested in Real’s Isco

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes on the future of Real Madrid midfielder Isco, reports the Sunday Mirror.

The 29-year-old’s fate will soon be decided when he meets new coach Carlo Ancelotti. The attacking midfielder has just one year left on his contract and an extension seems unlikely, meaning Real Madrid will have to sell him this summer if they want to receive a decent transfer fee. But the player is demanding a salary of at least £6m, which would make a deal difficult.

The Gunners are looking for an attacking midfielder following the departure of Martin Odegaard, who impressed during his time on loan in London at Real Madrid. But Spurs can bid for European football if they compete in the inaugural UEFA Europa League.

Champions League team AC Milan is also interested in Isco. So the competition for the Spaniard will increase, whether he leaves this summer or next year.

Isco moved from Malaga to Madrid for £27m in 2013 and has played over 300 La Liga games in that time. But he played just 34 league games in the last three seasons and is considered surplus to requirements.

15.42 TSB : The Scottish Sun reports that Brentford have failed in their £12m bid for Celtic defender Christoffer Iyer. The Norwegian has said he wants to leave this summer, but Celtic want to keep the centre-back at Parkhead for another season.

Celtic value the 23-year-old player at £15m, but Brentford were only prepared to offer £12m and a further £3m in bonuses. Norwich are also said to be interested.

2:59 PM EST: Arsenal are close to a deal for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, reports the Record. The Gunners have been linked with a bid for the Portuguese for some time now and Wolves are ready to do a deal as they rebuild their squad following the departure of coach Nuno Espírito Santo.

The report also states that Arsenal want to bring in another Portuguese, Renato Sanchez of Lille. But they had strong competition from Liverpool.

14.10 TSB : Harry Wilson has long been considered a future Liverpool star, but after loan spells at Crewe, Hull, Derby Bournemouth and Cardiff, it seems he could be sold this summer.

Wilson, 24, is in the interest of Premier League newcomers Brentford, who are willing to pay £10m for the Welshman to bring him to London, according to The Sun on Sunday.

13.22 TSB : The Sun on Sunday reports that Crystal Palace’s new manager Patrick Vieira wants to acquire Eddie Nketia from his former club Arsenal and is also interested in Euro 2020 star Kasper Dolberg.

Nketiah is reportedly available for £20m and Vieira believes the England Under-21 player would be the perfect addition to his attacking department.

Danish striker Dolberg was recruited by Vieira when he was still at the helm of French club Nice. The transfer fee is £25m, but Palace will only be able to contract one.

12 H 37 : The Sun reports that Inter Milan have won the race to sign 16-year-old Irish prodigy Kevin Zephy from Shamrock Rovers. Zephy became the youngest striker in Irish Major League history by scoring last season at just 15 years old.

Manchester City, Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven are among the clubs linked with Zefi’s purchase. But since the UK left the European Union in January, a Premier League club cannot contract the left-back until he is 18.

He wants to sign a three-year contract at Inter and start his career in the U19 team.

11.51 TSB : Barcelona resumed pre-season training this weekend, but young midfielder Elix Moriba was not part of the squad due to a contractual dispute.

The 18-year-old Eliix’ contract expires next summer and talks with his representatives have not yet led to an agreement on a contract extension. Mundo Deportivo reports that the midfielder, who moved to the first team in the second half of last season, is interested in a contract extension, but while a deal is in the works, Barca have decided to keep him in the B team.

The midfielder has been linked with several European clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

11.04 TSB : The Sunday Mirror reports that Rafael Benitez can expect Allan Saint-Maximin to be one of his first acquisitions as Everton manager. With Richarlison interested in Real Madrid following Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to leave Goodison Park and return to the Bernabeu, Benitez could be in need of reinforcement in attack.

St. Maximin has become a cult figure at Newcastle United. So if Benitez goes back to his old club to contract a £50m player, there will be no deal on Tyneside.

The 24-year-old left Nice for Newcastle two years ago for £16.5m.

10.19 TSB : We heard on Saturday that Manchester United were prepared to offer £100m and a couple of first-team players to get Tottenham striker Harry Kane, but the Sunday Express says that’s not true. The England captain wants a new appointment, but he has a long-term contract at Spurs, so the power lies with the club.

The Express reports that Man United are focusing on other targets and that any suggestion of a swap is nonsense.

09.30 TSB: Bild reports that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to make a bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, but the Bundesliga club have no intention of selling him this summer. Given that Dortmund have already received £73m from the sale of Jaydon Sancho to Manchester United, there is no reason to sell Haaland unless they get a monster bid.

Bild claim it would cost £150m to contract Haaland this summer, which doesn’t seem realistic for any club at the moment.

PAPER GOSSIP

– According to Sky Sports, Villarreal have rejected a £13m bid for Bournemouth’s Arnaut Danjuma. The 24-year-old scored 15 league goals for the Cherries last season, but they missed out on a return to the Premier League. Villarreal can offer him Champions League football, but the player is still under contract with the south coast club until 2024 and they are pushing for a higher transfer fee.

– Newcastle United are considering buying young Marcel Boubacar Camara for £15m. The Sunday Mirror reports that the 21-year-old is highly rated by Steve Bruce, who is looking to strengthen his midfield. The France Under-21 international has just one year left on his contract, has played almost 100 games in Ligue 1 and has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool.

– West Ham United have taken the lead in the race to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, reports Football Insider. The 23-year-old was not highly rated under Thomas Tuchel, but Chelsea’s £40m valuation has cooled interest, including from the Hammers. However, £30-35 million is expected to be enough to close the deal.

– Paulo Dibala has presented the terms of a contract extension to Juventus. If the parties fail to reach an agreement, Atletico Madrid and other teams are said to be interested in him, reports AS. The 27-year-old is at the end of his contract next year and is expected to tell the Serie A club that he wants a base salary of €10m to stay at the club.

– New Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants Jesse Lingard to join the club if Harry Kane leaves for Manchester United this summer. According to Football Insider, the 28-year-old could be interested in Spurs as England captain Kane pushes for a transfer. Last season Lingard was loaned to West Ham and scored 14 goals in 16 Premier League appearances. Thanks in part to this performance, the Hammers won the Europa League.
