Gemma Collins admitted that she felt suicidal and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after her relationship with James “Arg” Argent ended.
The Taui couple had an eventful relationship that ended in July 2020 after a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat was leaked in which he called her a “behemoth.”
But even before that, Arg’s struggle with cocaine addiction proved to be a major problem: the couple divorced several times and took three years to reconcile.
In Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Gemma broke down in tears after seeing a video of their love story and said she even considered committing suicide when the pressure of the relationship and fame became too much for her.
“When I saw the picture of James in the gray vest, he was in very good health at that time,” she said. For anyone who has ever thought about using drugs or trying it for just one night, you end up really addicted.”
“I was very happy with James, and we got along very well, but drugs changed him as a person, and ….I fought every day for three years to make him better.

After previously denying in an interview that she had ever been suicidal, Gemma now admits, “I felt suicidal. I think when my relationship with Arg broke down, I thought, ‘I don’t want to be here anymore, I can’t take it anymore.
Christmas [2019] was the lowest ever. I saved his life three times,” she continued.
“I have an insatiable love for him. I never wanted to give it up.”
But despite everything they’ve been through, including a miscarriage and several attempts at rehab, Gemma admitted that she still holds the torch for Arg, that it wasn’t easy to let go, and told Piers that she considers Arg “the love of her life.”

“I know a lot of people probably wouldn’t be [happy],” she says, “if I could go back in time and see him on the screen in his gray sweater and we could put the past behind us, and he would be fine. ….
The problem is that you don’t like James when you go out with him. What happened is that in March [2020], when he came home, of course, a miscarriage, a blockage, at about the same time, everything came back for me.

I couldn’t just sweep it under the rug. I remember having flashbacks and not realizing how much it affected me. I talked to my therapist and she said, “You’re suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.”
“I’m not saying we’ll get back together,” she concluded, “the truth is that it was just a mess. Not because we didn’t love each other, not because there were good times. James, get on the hook.”
