They say anything can happen during the WWE, and SmackDown proved the old cliché to be true when Adam Pearce won a big number one match against the challenger of 2021.
Scrap Daddy is a former NWA heavyweight world champion, but hasn’t played a game since 2014. However, he will do so on the 31st. January at the Royal Rumble to face Rome for the heavyweight title of the World Championship.
You’re probably wondering how we got here – well, at the beginning of the show, Roman Reigns was in his usual incredible form, cutting a promo on Kevin Owens and congratulating him on the fight he showed recently.
Tribal chief accused Pierce of being responsible for the knockout injuries after punishing a fight between Kevin and Jay Uso, endangering the injured star.
He also insisted that he should be able to choose his next challenger and not wait to see who would win the main Gauntlet match.

After a promotion, Pearce’s new assistant, Sonia Deville – who made a shocking comeback last week – wondered if he would be ready for a massive fight.
Although he said he wouldn’t, Paul Heyman showed up later and revealed that he’d pulled some strings to make it happen – so the scene was set up.
Later that night Sami Zain knocked on the right door when he left with a special film crew to make a documentary that would expose the alleged conspiracy against him.
Nakamura was the star of the show (Picture: WWE).
He entered the ring and almost immediately fell on Rey Mysterio, who then fell on Shinsuke Nakamura.
After receiving a masked luchador on his arm, the former IC champion defeated King Corbin, who attacked Mysterios on his way to the ring with the help of Kinshasa.
Daniel Bryan was next, but Nakamura-san – who looked better today than in a long time – put on a fantastic show before Nakamura-san won a huge victory.
Pierce was the last hesitant participant, with Heyman, J and Roman accompanying him in the ring – before the last two defeated The Artist.
The world champion then attacked Pierce and dragged him behind Shinsuke for a disrupted victory.
The best of the other
As with any glove, they take their time – but there was plenty of room in the show for more brilliant action.
In the first game, Apollo Crews and Big E scored a double pinfall after a super complex, leading to a tie in their game for the intercontinental title.
The first claimed the championship and hit his friend in the face, causing the former New Day to resume the race – which he won with the Big End, perhaps with the heel of the crew on the grindstone.
Elsewhere, Bianca Belair and Bayley won the Royal Rumble game later this month, while Carmella recently won against Sasha Banks.
We were also rewarded for our teamwork at the highest level, as Dolph Ziegler and Robert Rude beat Street Profit to win the brand’s blue tyres.
With the focus on Montes Ford’s injured leg, the story of this competition was clear, and the four men put on quite a show here, with the change of title for a good mate.
Fans also saw more fun from Billie Kaye, who unsuccessfully tried to convince the Riott Squad to expand outside the tag team despite her impressive resume.
The Gauntlets game could easily have been turned into a one-game show, and the fans would probably have been happy after Nakamura-san’s solid performance.

The SmackDown team props – between the opening promotion of the show, the warming up of the IC title stage, a discreet Rumble ramp-up, a high-profile team match with a name change, backstage sketches and then a glorious Main Event, they really made a splash as the good times rolled on as the Road to WrestleMania approached.
A fight for the Adam Pearce championship in 2021? Sure, why not? It’s supposed to be a fantastic television.
