mollyfamwatPresident Joe Biden indicated yesterday that Donald Trump had left him a letter. It was also revealed that outgoing Vice President Mike Pence left a letter for Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House. Nor did he publicly explain the contents of their letters. Joe Biden described his letter as generous, but did not specify what it meant.
At a press conference with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, a reporter asked if the president would release the contents of his letter. President Biden said he would wait to speak with President Trump before releasing the information in his personal letter.
Jen went on to say that no phone calls had been scheduled between President Biden and former President Trump.
The news that Donald Trump left a note for President Joe Biden surprised many after he refused to attend the presidential nomination. Typically, the outgoing president spends time with the new administration, including conversations at the White House, to make sure the transfer of power is done properly and even to mentor the new president.
President Donald Trump did none of this and instead of attending the inauguration, he held his own farewell red carpet and gave a speech at Joint Andrews Joint Base. Vice President Mike Pence attended the opening and was even seen laughing with Vice President Kamala Harris afterwards.
