FA Cup: Leicester 1-0 Brighton: Kelechi Iheanacho scores winner

Kelechi Iheanacho scored his fifth goal of the season.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored in the 94th minute. It was in the 25th minute that Leicester beat Brighton to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Substitute Iheanacho nodded Juri Thielemans’ cross into the net to bring the game to a close.

With seven substitutions on both sides, the first half was rather slow, as neither team managed to score a single penalty kick.

Things improved slightly in the second half thanks to Andi Zekiri and Cengiz, although both attempts were saved.

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Thursday and the matches are scheduled for the weekend of 20 and 21 January. Mars.

Brendan Rodgers’ side, who have won just once in 13 games, have reached the last eight for the second season in a row – but a nasty knee injury to James Justin will make the result a thing of the past.

The lively Zekiri turned and saw his low shot blocked by second-choice goalkeeper Leicester Ward. At the other end of the Turkish international, Under was pushed back by Christian Walton after a fine one-two with James Maddison.

With overtime and penalties looming on this chilly night, the Foxes played a quick corner in injury time that Iheanacho headed in for his fifth goal of the season.
