A statement about the late husband of Keeley Hawes’ character in the new television series Finding Alice left viewers completely baffled.

In the first episode of ITV’s Finding Alice, viewers meet Alice (Keeley), whose partner Harry (Jason Merrells) died suddenly after falling down a flight of stairs in their home.

Alice struggles with her grief as she is questioned by the police about the events that led to Harry’s death, and tries to figure out how to use the gadgets in her smart home that her husband designed.

In the middle of the first episode, Alice and her daughter Charlotte (Isabella Pappas) go to a funeral home where the funeral director asks them if they want Harry buried or cremated.

Unable to answer, Alice stormed into the building and told Charlotte: I don’t want to bury my husband.

Charlotte says: He wasn’t your husband, a comment that left some viewers completely baffled because Harry is called Alice’s husband throughout the episode.

Charlotte said, but isn’t he your man for Alice? asked a Twitter user.

The Wtf was referring to the girl when she said he’s not your man lmao what’s wrong with the other orphan.

Someone else said they were confused by the line of dialogue.

One listener expressed surprise by saying WHAT THE MESSAGE THAT HE DID NOT USE.

The girl meant it, too, when she said he wasn’t your man.

The first episode of Finding Alice ended on a cliff bump when a young man claiming to be Harry’s son suddenly appeared at the entrance to Alice’s house.

In addition, Alice and Charlotte noticed on the surveillance video of their home a mysterious character, a man who seemed to be talking to Harry before his death.

Could the perpetrator have been involved in his death?

In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, Isabella admitted that she found it strange that her character didn’t cry after her father’s death.

However, she doesn’t care that Charlotte’s subtle reaction adds to the mystery of the story.

I thought it was strange that she didn’t cry, but the character is actually very interesting, the actor said.

The script literally says she’s a virgin and has no real emotional reaction to anything, which I think also adds to the mystery.

Find Alice back on ITV next Sunday at 9pm and can be seen on ITV Player.
