Following Steven’s reunion with Christine last summer, just a few months after her divorce from husband Jay Cutler, a photo of their friendly reunion went around the world, with Christine teasing her followers with the legend of 2004 or 2020?
Nostalgic fans went crazy with excitement, believing that old high school sweethearts were rekindling their love. Kristin then revealed on the On the List podcast with Brett Gursky that the image was her all-time favorite Instagram post.
But more than 15 years after the end of Laguna Beach, is there more than friendship between the two?

Stephen opened up about the impact of the viral image during an appearance on the podcast Celebrity Commentary, ET Online reports. The 34-year-old actor revealed that he had to quit the day after the film went viral at Grammy.
My phone was off for the day, he admitted. I said, Christine, it’s me: You owe me dinner. I had to turn off my phone for 24 hours.
The former reality TV star gave no details about the reunion and thanked podcast host Emma Diamond for offering not to interview her about Christine.
After Diamond said she wouldn’t ask about the possibility of renewed love for Steven and Kristin because Unusual James’ founder’s relationship with actor Jeff Dye would be a reality, Steven replied: Thanks, I appreciate it.

Steven dodged KCav’s questions in a separate interview with E! News as he goes on tour to promote his new raucous comedy Hulu Tout va bien. At one point, he was asked if fans were still hoping he would one day reconnect with his Laguna Beach girlfriend. The reality TV duo has even been compared to other former celebrities like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
I think you mean the picture posted on social media, Stephen laughed. Because I don’t know anything about Brad and Angelina.
Although they will never be Brangelina, Steven has admitted that he still likes hanging out with Kristin, while making it clear that they are just friends – with no benefits.
It was good to see Christine again, he said in reference to the famous photo. We have a good friendship.
