What is the UGC NET exam?
The UGC NET exam discussed above is the national qualifying exam of the University Grants Commission. The examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency, which is headed by and acts on behalf of the UGC or the University Grants Commission. The purpose of the examination is to determine the eligibility of the candidate for the post of Assistant Professor or Researcher or both in Indian Universities and Colleges. Eligibility requirements for the UGC NETexam

- Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 55% in the master’s program if they belong to the general category. If students belong to a different category, they can achieve a minimum score of 50%.

UGC NET Test plan
The UGC NET exam consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Both assignments consist of MCQs and must be completed within 3 hours. The first test consists of 50 questions for a total of 100 points and the second test of 100 questions for a total of 200 points. The tests will comprise 150 questions for a total of 300 points. The curriculum of the two tests differs in that the first test focuses on the teaching and research skills aspect. It covers aspects such as educational concepts, assessment systems, teaching methods, research methods, understanding, communication, mathematical reasoning and mathematical skills, logical reasoning, interpretation of data, etc. The work is divided into several units, each telling a different chapter and story. Age limits for UGC NET examinations

- Applicants for the Junior Fellowship should not be older than 31 years.
- Candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category are eligible for relaxation of age limit by up to 5 years.
- Candidates with L.L.M. degree may be eligible for exemption from the age limit for three years.
- Candidates who have joined and served in the army will be given an age reduction of 5 years.
- There is no age limit for the post of Assistant Professor in UGC NET examinations.
