WWE has an open invitation for Freddie Flintoff and Tom Davis.

The Top Gear presenter and retired cricketer watched NXT UK at BT Sport this week and could not resist the talent shown.

He’s tagged and teased Murder in Successville actor Tom’s post: While watching NXTuk fight at @btsport, keep in mind that you and I @BigTomD may have treated these guys (sic).

His Star League of Their Own seemed to take up the challenge, sharing and adding classic talent: Dude, I made my peace with it…. We’ll be the dream team.

It is not surprising that the exchange attracted the attention of the WWE UK team, which seems to have made this offer if both parties want to test themselves in the ring.

The company’s official Twitter account simply replied with an emoji envelope and wrote : Open invitation.

Many British NXT talents also noticed the tweets and Mark Andrews posted what could be interpreted as a warning shot.

In addition to the gift he used to beat young veterans with a Grizza Kendo stick when NXT UK took control of Blackpool II in January 2020, he wrote Howzat.

Flintoff replied: I’d probably give that away.

When the main event ended – Jordan Devlin throws against debutant Ben Carter – Freddie looked like he had won, and his chances were unthinkable.

I’ll take it back. It’s okay. @btsport I went out, he tweeted. This guy, Carter, running around.

Flintoff isn’t as weird in the ring as it sounds – he even trained with WWE in Florida and recently said he was prepared for a game with The Undertaker.

What happened was I needed a job. I loved wrestling when I was a kid. I love Undertaker. They want to fight this guy in Manchester, he told Eddie Hearn earlier in No Passion, No Podcast.

I gave it to Skye – they loved it, they introduced me to the WWE, last thing I know, I’m on a plane, I’m on my way to Tampa for wrestling school. I got my feet wet and I practiced.

I was there for two days, got beaten up, broke two ribs and did some things for the camera. I didn’t think about it.

However, it seems that there is a future in this area, as he has even been approached for a jump rope in the wrestling world.

He went on to say: Then I received a letter or e-mail from the WWE informing me that you would like to join us? They said: Come to wrestling school, we’ll let you know, in 18 months you’ll be doing WrestleManias, Royal Rumbles.

And I’m thinking: I haven’t made up my mind yet, but with the money I’m very tempted. ‘

*NXT UK is broadcasted every Thursday evening on the WWE network and on Friday on BT Sport.
