mollyfamwatPHILADELPHY — The 2020 NFL regular season is over. Now begins the real fireworks for the Philadelphia Eagles.
This off-season promises to be one of the most regular for the franchise in the recent past. There has been a decline in the number of days spent on Quarterback Carson Wentz – up to a few months in the centre of their universes. Philadelphia has an aggravated Franchise Quarterback, which earns 32 million dollars a year, a widely distributed Rookie QB in Yalen Hurts, which is shown in four games, and a sample selection.
Those NFL Eagles stopped at 6. Picked together in Draft 2021 and an exception must be made in order to rebuild an alto and teuren Roster. They need a new defensive coordinator and probably new offensive coaches. There are cornerstones of the franchise outside Wentz, including Super Bowl hero Zach Ertz, who seems about to leave.

Looks like he’s headed this way. According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Wentz’s relationship with coach Doug Pederson has been broken since the renovation and the QB is planning to apply for a trade.
The Eagles will try to calm things down in the coming weeks – general manager Howie Roseman and Pederson started this process on Monday with blowing up Wentz and making sure everything goes well between the team and the BQ – if only to try and create some commercial influence. Apart from Wentz after four years, a $128 million contract extension in the summer of 2019 would be a financial record pain. Philadelphia would get a hit of almost $35 million if they traded it in its current form. The biggest success in the history of the competition is the success of Brandin Cook with the Los Angeles Rams, which yielded 21.8 million dollars.
It’s a very difficult pill to swallow. But Wentz’s confidence in the organization was shattered after he was assured in the second round last April that there was no cause for concern, except that the situation degenerated into a real controversy within the BQ (partly due to Wentz’s bad game). Any plan by the Eagles to return Wentz to his former state and place him back in QB1 will be met with skepticism. The secondary roads now give Wentz the fresh start he wants, while financially supporting the Eagles in the long term.
There should be some interest – a possible meeting with Coach Frank Reich in Indianapolis, and the New England Patriots are certainly doing their homework – but the deal should be made soon: The Eagles must enter into the agreement for the third day of the 2021 Championship (starting March 17) to fully guarantee his base salary for 2022 and pay a $10 million bonus for 2021.
Which other Eagles players are going to move?
The biggest planned start outside Wentz is that of Ertz, their exceptionally tight end. Like Wentz, Ertz’ relationship with the team was tense last season when the contract negotiations stalled. The quality of the offers left the impression that the management was not very sincere about the need to maintain the package.
On Monday he was brought to tears when he was asked to give a last message to Philadelphia when this is the end of the road.

Ertz, 30, has led his team in catches and receiving yards for the past four seasons for an unusual and injury-damaged 2020. He has a reasonable contract – his average salary of $8.5 million puts him in 10th place on the tightest contracts – and the buying team has reason to believe he will bounce back in season 21. It remains to be seen whether it is wise for the Eagles to share ways with another key player and locker room manager like Malcolm Jenkins security for him, but they will get about $5 million in captivity.

Jason Kelce, 33, has been considering retirement for two seasons. If he leaves, they lose an important player and a coach on the field who brings a high degree of responsibility and professionalism.
Wentz, Ertz and Kelce returned to the field long after the game in Washington and talked on the bench for about half an hour before they disappeared into the tunnel. The importance of this moment seemed clear.
The Eagles are expected to cross the $73 million mark in 2021. Roseman needs to get rid of some V.A. contracts. If the Alshon Jeffery, DeShawn Jackson and Marquise Goodwin wide receivers are cut, they will receive about $17 million, bringing them closer to the ceiling. They have to find a solution for Derek Barnett’s base salary of $10 million. Jason Peters, Jaylen Mills, Nate Sudfeld, Vinny Curry, Hassan Ridgeway, Cre’von LeBlanc and Nickell Robey-Coleman should be free agents.
Philadelphia got the ball Monday. Malik Jackson and Jeffery have agreed to review their contracts, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, to create a short-term cap space. Their departure still seems likely.
What’s going to happen to Coach Doug Pederson?
Expect an update on the offensive side of the ball. The group, including Press Taylor, Rich Scangarello, Andrew Brainerd and Marty Mornhinweg, failed to create a coherent product. Wentz went back to the point where he was barely recognizable and the crime had no identity. The Eagles will be hiring an offensive coordinator this season, after they’ve been deprived of one before. Pederson must find a reliable replacement, as he did in the Reich.
Philadelphia also has a defensive coordinator and Jim Schwartz has decided to take a year off. Matt Burke and the Marquand Manuel are potential candidates. There are many notable names on the market, including Gus Bradley, Dan Quinn and Wade Phillips.
Is there anything else we need to know?
The Eagles finished sixth in the NFL draft after a controversial decision to put Hurts in the center in the season finale against Washington. They’re not flirting with the idea of bringing a quarterback to compete with Hurts…… Are they? Or how about finally solving their broad receptor problems by doping DeVonta Smith from Alabama or Ja’Marr Chase from LSU?
And as long as Roseman’s safe, something has to happen at Division. John Dorsey worked as a consultant and could have taken a full-time job.
