An Open Letter to College Students – Don’t Miss These 10 Things

University is the best time of your life, you meet a lot of people with different beliefs, behaviours, viewpoints and more than that, you learn to look at things differently.

Watch good series and movies, listen to good music and read good books. Our lives are too short to learn from experience. They show us new worlds, open new perspectives, help us understand ourselves better.

The university doesn’t just need to get more points. The time you spend there is worth much more than the numbers.

That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 things to do in college.

1. Your mentors are important in life, so choose them with wisdom.

College begins with freshmen hoping to pursue their dreams and ambitions. To make your dreams come true, seek advice from those who have overcome your obstacles.

The value of a mentor is greater than you think.

Read this article to learn more about the importance of a mentor and how to find one.

How do I find a mentor? We have provided some examples to help you in your search.

a) Do you want to be good at web development?

Every university has clubs dedicated to developing and designing websites and related applications, approach them. If you have some relevant skills, you can probably join their team. However, if you are new and want to brush up on some knowledge, find someone from the club to help you with the learning process.

(b) Contractor banna hai? (Do you want to become an entrepreneur?)

Find someone who is already in the business and ask them: I also want to start a startup and would love to learn from you.

Whatever you want to become, find someone who does what you want to do and learn from them. Universities are full of talented people, your seniors are cooler than you think.

(c) Play music?

Almost every university has a music club. Connect with them, and if you’re good, join their group. You can also find a mentor who is already a member of this club.

(d) Artist ?

Do you enjoy drawing, painting and bringing paper/canvas to life? You should see the stoned Santa. It is a platform where artists create work for our clients and get paid and recognized for it. It’s never too late to start.

2. The value of an idea lies in its use.

A startup is a new guitar. Every student wants one – Arunabh Kumar.

Why don’t you keep it? TO BEGIN I don’t want everyone to jump into a business and strive to get a thousand users or attract millions.

Commissioning – The act or process of turning something on.

Let’s look at some examples to better understand this term – STARTUP!

(A) WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT : Get the basics, start building a website and keep adding features. Improve the look, add more features, work on security. You learn so much when you work on something that is LIVING and REAL.

(B) ENTREPRENEURSHIP : You can join a startup and collaborate, learn how it works, make contacts, gain experience, and then start your own business.
Identify a problem faced by a sample population, develop a solution, discuss it with the target audience, validate the idea, iterate and launch an MVP (Minimal Viable Product). Don’t wait to improve your product/service. Go for the MVP and iterate on every step you take to grow your business.

Don’t just create a Facebook page and write CEO@XYZ. Running doesn’t give you glamour.

Work hard and you will reap the rewards later.

Whatever you want, start it. Needing manuals and only watching videos on YouTube and Coursera will not help you. START!

You learn by doing, not by consuming!

3. Spend time learning new DIFFERENCES.

Before you start learning new skills, make a list of the skills you need to become the person you want to be in the next five years.

Some general skills that everyone should master :

a) Proper use of the Internet – Billions of GB of data are published on the Internet every day. In this vast ocean, it’s not easy to find what you want. Strive to use the internet effectively and accurately.
b) Communicate – super important skill to master. Learn to communicate well!
c) Social media – the world is a highly connected platform, it is not easy to let the world know what you are doing. To harness the enormous potential of social media, regular work needs to be done.

Learning is a continuous process. Assign time slots and work on developing new skills.

You can learn something new every day

4. Stay close to your family.

In college, you spend a lot of time with people your own age who are just as rebellious as you are. The bond you make with these people is of a different level. But it’s important to remember that your family is waiting for you to come back and make them proud.

Call someone you love at home a few times a week, even if it’s just for a few minutes. University will show you at what times you will need the support of close people. Keep those doors open where you can speak from your heart to those who are closed and they will help you.

5. If it’s GREAT, it might be a good idea to try it.

Step out of your comfort zone and seek out other people and unique learning experiences.

* You found a pretty girl? * Go talk to him. Stalking her on social media won’t help.

*Will you be a good speaker? * Go talk to strangers * Good talk. After the initial greeting, it becomes very simple.

There is so much to learn and experience outside of our comfort zone. Force yourself to go outside often.

One step every day and by the end of the week you’ll be a lot more.

6. Falling into LOVE.

Don’t be afraid to fall in love. If this happens, don’t take it for granted. Celebrate it, but don’t let it define your college experience.
Falling in love doesn’t necessarily mean falling in love with the opposite sex, you can also fall in love with your job.

Our work must define us, give us a new name, a new identity.

7. Take risks – If you win, you are happy, if you don’t win, you are wise.

University is the perfect time to experiment, fail, learn and rediscover. By taking risks, I mean not getting into trouble and doing illegal things. Approaching opportunities with an open mind that is not afraid to fail is what I mean by taking RISKS.

The biggest risk is not to take the risk…. In a rapidly changing world, the only strategy guaranteed to fail is not to take risks.
– Mark Zuckerberg

Remember:

  1. Exceptional opportunities, otherwise unforeseen, often arise from taking risks.
  2. You can’t achieve your dream if you play it safe.
  3. Accepting risk will help you overcome your fear of SAFETY.

8. HEALTH IS WEALTH

Sleep well.

Practice.

Breakfast – 95% of students skip breakfast. DON’T DO IT!

Remember. We have 2 lungs, 1 liver and 2 kidneys. What you do to your body at school will stay with you forever.

9. Find a way to make money.

School > College > Starting to make money. Why follow the convention and wait for the university to get there to mint money?

I can’t afford to turn your brain off. How to pay for it opens up possibilities, excitement and dreams!

Students have a number of legal and illegal problems. Find out how you can maintain your lifestyle yourself.

Making money teaches you a lot about life and gives you extra motivation. No, I don’t want you doing illegal things to make money.

Develop skills >> Apply them in a practical way.
Bidding: Read RICH DAD POOR DAD by Robert Kiyosaki.

Starting to make money early gives you financial freedom, a broader perspective and a new way of looking at the world.

$$$

10. NETWORK – The network does not collect contacts! It’s about planting relationships.

You don’t have sugar at home, you’re sick, you can’t go out, you knock on your neighbor’s door and ask for help, they say you have sugar, and she even comes down to help you with your tea.

Let’s take this case: Your business needs cool posters, you reach people you know and you get great designs that really boost your business.

If you could develop it yourself, it would certainly be a very educational experience for you. But knowing people who are good at something and asking for their help only makes it easier.

Building a network is not only about taking. It’s a symbiotic relationship. Before you take, you must learn to give. University is the best place to meet people who share other passions. Work with them and work on something constructive, then building a great network will come naturally.

It’s not about who knows you, it’s about who knows you.

It is important to note that people only ask for help when you build a relationship with them, not when you connect with them through social media.

The university is a place where LIFE happens, whether it is SERVICE or WELCOME.

Set a goal – . After X years of college, I should be able to pursue my passion full time and will not be relying on a college internship to make a living.

Spend time experimenting, making mistakes, learning, developing skills, meeting people, making friends, having fun with your friends. You only go to college once. Make the most of it.

Good luck! If you like this article, please share it with people who might find it useful.
