Kemba Walker should be back at the Celtics pretty soon.

Boston Celtics playmaker Kemba Walker has been released for practice on Friday night and is expected to be back on the team’s books soon.

On the day the Celtics were told they would lose three members of their courtroom – Tristan Thompson, Robert Williams and Grant Williams – for at least seven days as a result of the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols, Kemba’s news was certainly a pleasant surprise. Head coach Brad Stevens, who had originally announced that the Celtics would have a better understanding of Walker’s situation in the first week of January, and an upgrade.

All he has done is train with the Celtics coaching staff and Kemba is on schedule.

He’s feeling fine. He looks good, although I don’t think our coaches are a problem, Stevens said before Friday’s game against the Washington Wizards. It’s a bit of a dichotomy in that respect; we’re encouraged. I’m sure he’ll be back here in the near future. But we will make progress in the next stages of training and practice.

The next week will be crucial. To avoid any hiccups, this should lead to the Celtics All-Star’s point guard starting in the 2021 season.

Boston Celtics set Kemba Walker’s return date for game s. Orlando Magic

According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the Celtics are focusing on next Friday’s game against the Magic in the TD Garden for their comeback.

Of course, it will ultimately depend on how the whole team trains with Kemba, but I’ve heard that they are aiming for his return next Friday against Orlando.

In the meantime it’s all about reuniting Kemba with his teammates.

I think the next step for him is to go out on the field with the other guys on the team, Stevens said. He was there with the coaching team; and with individual exercises and 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 measurements. The next step is now to play live with our boys. I don’t think he’s come very far. He looks good, he feels good. He’s probably felt the same way since he’s been here.

Brad Stevens on his way to recovery for Kemba Walker: He told me to make sure he was stronger.

Stevens also added that one of the most encouraging signs is the pain Walker is currently experiencing. Brad thanks Kemba and one of the team’s top coaches for their hard work on Walker’s knee rehabilitation over the past two months.

He didn’t suffer for a couple of months, well, maybe not for a couple of months, but he started before he came back, Stevens said. He and one of our strength trainers, Jace Delaney, have been very vigilant. They spent a lot of time together, came up with a big plan and followed it up. On Kemba’s honor, he says: I have to make sure he’s stronger so he’s ready for the season, and if we’re lucky, for the off-season.
