Alex Morgan’s first appearance in the United States after winning last year’s World Cup final could come later this month in a repeat of the same match against the Netherlands in 2019.
Morgan is currently playing for Tottenham and is one of the main European players who, together with American coach Vlatko Andonovsky, will play for Tottenham in the game of 27-29 September. November against the Netherlands in Dutch Brenda. This is the first game for the United States since they won the Shabbelle Cup in March.
The release of the pandemic was the longest for the national team at the time of the Women’s World Cup.

While Morgan was on tour after the World Cup last summer and fall, she hasn’t played for the national team since winning the Silver Shoe at the World Cup, scoring a total of six goals and three assists. It is also his first challenge since the birth of his daughter Charlie, his first child, in May.

I know Alex’s quality, Andonowski said. She has already proven that she is a quality player and that she can make an impact in this team and on an international level. His ability to change his game is something that will always be welcome in this team.
Andonowski has also selected his Manchester United teammates Tobin Heath and Kristen Press and Manchester City teammates Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis for the match against the Netherlands. All four of them took part in the World Cup finals and the press came to replace them.

Due to travel needs in the context of the pandemic, the European players did not participate in the training camp in the United States in October. This camp, held in a bubble environment in Colorado, was the first team event since March.

A two-time winner of the Herman Trophy for best soccer player at Stanford College, Brazil-born Macario, has recently been granted American citizenship and an American passport. Andonowski said the U.S. Football Association did not expect to get the permission required by FIFA documents for Macario to play a match against the Netherlands in time. However, he feels that the journey and the training atmosphere are important enough for his development to include him in the list of 23 players.
Mewis, 29, returned to Houston Dash in 2014 after his last performance in the United States. He and his younger sister Sam made only one debut in the same match against Denmark in the 2014 Algarve Cup. In the second set of sisters who played for the national team, they also shared the field as a reserve against Sweden at the beginning of the tournament.
Sophia Smith, a former Macario teammate at Stanford, who left school early to join the NWSL 2020 recruitment office, is also looking for her first hat in the Netherlands.
